Welcome to Lomond Park Tennis Club
I've just done a quick pitch inspection and it's rather obvious that there will be no tennis at Lomond Park this evening.
HOWEVER, I did switch on the heaters so by 6.30pm the clubhouse should be nice and warm and ready for all of us to enjoy our mulled wine and mince pies. See you there!

The main adult and junior leagues are now completed and, as always, there were some tough and some fun battles on court. Our juniors have acted as tremendous ambassadors for the club as they have visited other clubs across the East of Scotland region. A huge thank you to all parents who have acted as team "managers". Sir Alex Ferguson doesn't require even half of your abilities! Without your support, not to mention the driving, match recording, tea provision, cajoling, etc we simply couldn't run the teams. I would urge all parents whose children have played in the teams to offer to lend a hand next season even if it's to run just one match - it really is very rewarding. I am sure that all of you will join me in thanking Pippa Johnston for organising the Juniors Section - 9 teams, coaching, numerous club events and the Junior Tournament. And she made it all look so easy!
I think that I can safely say that our adults were also good ambassadors for the club! Our Ladies' Captain, Gail Kinmond, and our Mens' Captain, Richard Arnott, have both done sterling jobs at turning out four teams each for ten weeks. Thanks to Richard for organising the Mens Veterans team and to Val Henderson for persevering with the Ladies Veterans in what seemed to be a very long, drawn out season.
The courts have been playing beautifully since the rejuvenation maintenance in the summer. Let's hope that we don't have such a severe winter this year as last so that we can all enjoy plenty of winter tennis.
